Why it exists
Hole pattern is not decoration. How the openings are arranged decides whether the bed drains as one surface or as a series of competing zones.
Stainless basket with a hexagonal beehive pattern, which packs more evenly spaced holes into the same base area than a square grid does. Precision-cut so hole diameter stays consistent from centre to edge.
Higher open area means slightly less resistance, so expect to adjust the grind finer by a step or two. Best evaluated through a bottomless handle over three or four shots.
